Mobile Suit Gundam The Complete Version Betas Released

Nyaa Link:  https://nyaa.si/view/1627350 These were what I called the Betas for the Complete Version. They were used as LQ hardsubbed workprints when I worked on this project between 2018-2020 trying to determine which scenes worked and which scenes didn't. There are articles referencing these and I decided to release them since someone emailed me and requested them. Each of the movies are available with multiple revisions. They're full length but there are a few different cuts between each movie and some feature completely different ideas about what I had hoped from the release version. They're presented as-is. I no longer have access to the materials to recreate in higher quality. I may revisit to show the differences between the final version but that would be much later if someone else doesn't do it.

Mobile Suit Gundam The Complete Version V1 Released

Nyaa Link:  https://nyaa.si/view/1627349 After 4 years of researching the Gundam anime, researching navy/military terms, researching Imperial Japan, researching Yoshiyuki Tomino, creating multiple failed attempts at the project, and sending this through multiple test audiences, I've finally completed this fanedit.  Yes, it was a long time coming but it's time to finally release this to the world as there are no more edits I can think of to make me continue gatekeeping this. A bit about this since you may not be familiar with what I have done. This was a project that I took on in 2018 due to not being satisfied with the Gundam Movie Trilogy and Gundam TV series. While I highlight that here , and will make more posts about that on this blog, I ultimately wished to create an extended version of the Gundam movie trilogy with additional footage from the TV version. Obviously not everything has been put back into each movie but all of them together add 2 hours and 34 mintues worth o...

Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy Re-Translated V3 Released

I now, after so many months, present the v3 of the Gundam Movie Trilogy.  Unfortunately I had a lot of personal tragedies between summer and winter 2022 so this was delayed. I apologize right now to some people I was unable to answer during that time period. Nyaa link:  https://nyaa.si/view/1627347 From a technical perspective, I moved the video and audio back to the BD release. There were some compromises I needed to make because of that and now, as a result a V4 must be created. Video: Kagura Audio: Kagura (Japanese Audio), EG (English Audio) Subtitles: GundamTheCompleteVersions (Custom retranslation using 2011 script) What will be included in V4? V4 will have the lowest priority since I am attempting to complete a few additional side series. The only major addition to V4 will be the Special Edition Audio. I know, I previously mentioned that the Special Edition audio was to be included in V3, this did not happen. Due to moving the subtitles back to the BD version from the UH...

Mobile Suit Gundam TV and Movie Trilogy Extras

Nyaa link:  https://nyaa.si/view/1627346 This is a separate release of the TV and Movie trilogy extras. It was determined that instead of attaching them, they'd be released separately. This now includes extras from the TV version in addition to the same extras from the V2 of the movie trilogy's V1 and V2 releases.

Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy Retranslated V2 Released

Has been superseded: https://gundamthecompleteversionscolony.blogspot.com/2023/01/mobile-suit-gundam-movie-trilogy-re.html Anything mentioned below is for historical purposes.   After releasing the V1, I still noticed there were many typos, grammatical, and timing errors still in place. These have been fixed as best as they could have and then retimed to the UHDBD video. I'm open to fixing them even more if there are any suggestions. The only things that have been removed from the previous release but will reappear in V3 are the following: Japanese Closed Captions Japanese Audio Commentaries These were removed so they can be retimed. Note about the 7.1 Audio Track: This is not the special edition audio. There are no redubbed lines, replaced sound effects, or rearrangement of the soundtrack. It is however an upmix of the original theatrical audio with additional ambient sound effects. If you are seeking the true original theatrical audio, it is the FLAC 2.0 audio track. What will be...

Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy Retranslated Released

Superseded: https://gundamthecompleteversionscolony.blogspot.com/2023/01/mobile-suit-gundam-movie-trilogy-re.html   The subtitles used here were created from my project “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Complete Versions” which will be released soon. The subtitles update the translation from the 1998 VHS and the 2000 special edition releases to use the TV version’s subtitles.   “The movies are already subtitled why make this?” Since most people are either/or when it comes to the original Mobile Suit Gundam series opting to only watch the TV version or only watch the movie version, most would also never notice that the movie trilogy and the TV version use two different subtitle scripts even though both versions share ~95% of the same dialogue. Additionally, most people don’t know that the movie version and the TV version were localized by entirely different companies at 2 points in history. Why are the updated subtitles needed? The original Mobile Suit Gundam was released in North Ameri...
